About Studley

Studley is a large village and civil parish situated in the Forest of Arden area of the Stratford-on-Avon District in the west of Warwickshire. It’s said to be one of the largest villages in England with a population of over 6,000 people.

Studley grew to its present size because of its development in the needle industry which peaked in the area from the 17th century onwards. This trade started when Queen Elizabeth I allowed a population of Huguenot refugees to settle in Studley, bringing with them this rare craft.

Nowadays Studley is a modern village with four schools, a swimming pool and a variety of shops that cater for everyday needs from supermarkets to bakers and butches. There’s also a huge car boot sale every Sunday.
